Part-Time Library Assistant (Bellefonte)

The Centre County Library in Bellefonte is looking for an enthusiastic, customer service oriented person to join our team as a Part-Time Library Assistant. This 11-18 hour per week position offers regularly scheduled shifts: Wednesday from 12pm - 7pm and Fridays from 10am - 4pm and every other Saturday from 8:30am - 4pm. Salary starts at $10.50/hour with an increase after the first 6 months.

Physical abilities: handle, lift, or move library materials weighing up to 25 lbs; stand at a computer terminal; and stand, sit, walk, stoop or reach within a confined area. While the library is often quiet, it is a public space where programs are held and can become loud.

All library positions require the following criminal background and child abuse clearances: Report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP); Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services (Child Abuse); and fingerprint-based federal criminal history submitted through the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent (FBI).
