Part-time Library Assistant- Colonial Heights

The Sullivan County Public Library is seeking a fun and engaging candidate to assist with circulation and programming tasks at our Colonial Heights Branch Library. SCPL has five branches, and the selected candidate must be available to work at all locations if needed. This person will work 28 hours each week on average, but may have the opportunity to work additional hours as needed. Candidates must be available Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and at least two Saturdays each month.

Ideal candidates are passionate about reading, technology, and actively engaging with the community. Candidates should be detail-oriented and able to work independently.

Responsibilities include:

• Complete circulation duties as directed by the Branch Manager
• Work with the Branch Manager to serve the programming needs of the community which may include organizing and facilitating adult or youth programs
• Receives and records money per library policies
• Work with the Library Director to develop an individual plan for continuing education and professional development

Candidates must be willing to complete a background check.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.50 per hour
