POSITION OPENING Part-Time Licensed School Social Worker

Position: Part-Time Licensed School Social Worker (District-Wide) Hours: 20–25 hours per week, 10-month position (school calendar) Reports To: Director of Student Services / Building Principal

Overview: Aliquippa School District is seeking a compassionate, highly skilled Licensed School Social Worker to support student success across all grade levels. This position will provide social-emotional support, address barriers to learning, and coordinate services related to truancy prevention, homelessness (McKinney-Vento), and community resources.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide short-term counseling and crisis intervention to students.
• Monitor and address attendance concerns, conduct Student Attendance Improvement Conferences, and collaborate with truancy court when needed.
• Serve as the district’s McKinney-Vento liaison, ensuring immediate enrollment and access to services for homeless students.
• Connect students and families with community resources.
• Work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, counselors, and outside agencies.

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
• Pennsylvania School Social Worker PK-12 Certification OR PA LSW/LCSW license.
• Experience with school-aged children, PA truancy laws, and McKinney-Vento regulations.
• Strong communication, case management, and organizational skills.

Preferred:

• Public school experience.
• Familiarity with MTSS, SAP, PBIS, and restorative practices. Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
