Part-time Maintenance Contractor

The Part-time Maintenance Contractor position requires a minimum of sixteen (16) hours per week and up to twenty-five (25) hours per week of coverage, with staggered scheduling on Saturdays and Sundays, and designated evening Services and/or Events.

Additionally, the Contractor will provide coverage for the Weekend Maintenance Contractor as needed. The Contractor is responsible for the appearance, cleanliness, and sanitization of the Church facilities.

The Contractor performs custodial duties, including, but not limited to, cleaning services, such as trash removal, mopping, vacuuming, and restroom cleaning in the Church and in administrative and executive offices. The Contractor performs these and other duties as directed by the Manager.

Qualifications:

· Moves, loads, and unloads equipment and supplies weighing no greater than 40 pounds.

· Performs duties independently and without direct supervision.

· Executes the ability to monitor church buildings and demonstrates the required physical functions.

· Makes sound judgment decisions related to all types of emergencies and safety matters.

· Shows the capability to walk long distances around church buildings.

· Performs required physical activities and can bend, stoop, squat, reach, climb ladders and scaffolds, and notifies the Manager of needed repairs and security issues.

· Adheres to timely attendance during stated and/or negotiated hours.

· Displays excellent communication skills and demonstrates teamwork behaviors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs cleaning and sanitizing of the Sanctuary, Chapel, Offices and Meeting Rooms
• Vacuums, sweeps and mops floors; removes Parking Lot trash.
• Cleans, sanitizes, and stocks all Restrooms.
• Cleans all spills on the premises with appropriate equipment.
• Removes garbage and recycling daily, and prepares bins for weekly pick-up.
• Secures and stores all cleaning supplies and equipment upon completion of duties.
• Assists in setting up and dismantling tables, chairs, and other equipment as needed.
• Assists in other areas related to the overall maintenance of the Church when needed.
• Checks security monitors regularly for suspicious or unusual activity.

CONSIDERATION AND PAYMENT

The Part-time Maintenance Contractor is not eligible for any Employee benefits that Peoples Church provides.

The Contractor is paid Bi-Weekly. The Contractor is required to complete an Internal Revenue Service W-9 Form. People’s Church will submit a 1099 Form to the Internal Revenue Service to document compensation for contractual services.

NON-ASSIGNMENT

The Part-time Maintenance Contractor shall not assign any of its rights under this Agreement to any person or entity without the prior written consent of Peoples Church.

APPLICABLE LAW

This Agreement will be construed under, and governed by, the laws of the District of Columbia.
