Job Title: Part-Time Maintenance Technician / Handyman (with Construction Experience)

About the Opportunity
I’m looking to hire my first team member to support day-to-day maintenance needs across a small but growing multi-family and commercial real estate portfolio, as well as assist with ongoing home renovation/flip projects. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, reliable, and entrepreneurial — someone who wants to grow their skills, take ownership of projects, and learn the business side of real estate.
Role Overview
The Maintenance Tech / Handyman will split time between:
- General property maintenance across multiple rental units
- Renovation and flip project work, from demo to finish work depending on skillset
- Light construction tasks as needed
You’ll have consistent work, a flexible schedule, and the chance to build experience in both property management and residential construction.
Key Responsibilities
Rental Property Maintenance
- Perform routine repairs (e.g., plumbing fixtures, electrical troubleshooting, drywall, painting)
- Handle tenant work orders in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain exterior areas (snow removal coordination, landscaping touch-ups, exterior repairs)
- Conduct move-in/move-out repairs and turnover prep
Construction & Renovation Work
- Assist with active real-estate flip projects (demo, framing assistance, installing fixtures, flooring, painting, etc.)
- Source materials and pick up supplies as needed
- Help keep projects on schedule by tackling hands-on tasks
- Perform basic carpentry, tiling, and finish work depending on experience
Qualifications
- General handyman or maintenance experience required
- Basic construction skills strongly preferred (carpentry, drywall, flooring, light electrical, plumbing)
- Ability to troubleshoot issues independently
- Must have reliable transportation and basic tools, I can provide any other tools needed for various jobs.
- Strong work ethic, good communication skills, and ability to work independently
- Comfortable working in occupied and unoccupied units
