The Washington Alliance for Quality Recovery Residences (WAQRR) is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to building and supporting a network of high-quality, accredited recovery residences. Through accreditation, education, advocacy, and technical assistance, WAQRR works to strengthen recovery housing and improve outcomes for individuals seeking recovery from substance use disorders.
As our organization continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated and creative Marketing and Engagement Coordinator to help expand our reach, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and promote the value of quality recovery housing throughout Washington State.
Position Summary
The Marketing and Engagement Coordinator will support WAQRR's communications, outreach, and engagement efforts. This position is responsible for coordinating marketing initiatives, managing digital communications, maintaining the organization's online presence, and building relationships with recovery residence operators and community partners.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong communication skills, marketing experience, and a passion for supporting recovery-oriented systems of care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Marketing and Communications
- Coordinate and implement marketing and communication projects.
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns through digital platforms and print media.
- Research, draft, format, and distribute newsletters, announcements, and other organizational communications.
- Create and update marketing materials, including brochures, banners, presentations, photographs, reports, and promotional content.
- Assist with branding initiatives and communication campaigns to increase awareness of WAQRR programs and services.
- Research emerging communication strategies and industry trends to enhance outreach efforts.
Website and Social Media Management
- Maintain and update the WAQRR website with current information, announcements, and resources.
- Manage social media content and engagement across multiple platforms.
- Monitor digital engagement metrics and recommend strategies for improvement.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Identify and engage recovery residence operators throughout Washington State.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with recovery housing providers and community stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Director of Accreditation to support provider engagement and accreditation outreach efforts.
- Promote WAQRR professional development opportunities, accreditation services, and the statewide Recovery Residence Registry.
- Clearly communicate the value and benefits of WAQRR membership, accreditation, and educational offerings.
Reporting Relationship
This position reports directly to the Executive Director.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of two years of professional experience in marketing, communications, outreach, or a related field.
- Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience managing websites and social media platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common digital marketing tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in nonprofit organizations, behavioral health, recovery support services, or related human services fields.
- Familiarity with recovery housing, substance use disorder services, or mental health systems.
- Experience with graphic design, email marketing platforms, and website content management systems.

Compensation and Benefits
- $22.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience.
