Part-Time Master Electrician (Qualifying Agent)

Position Summary

Apple Signs / Signgrafx is seeking a licensed Texas Master Electrician to serve as our Qualifying Electrician of Record for electrical sign installations and service work in the Houston and Dallas markets.

This is a low-demand, part-time position intended for a seasoned professional who wants consistent supplemental income without the workload of a full-time role. Your license and expertise will support our compliance for the installation, connection, and servicing of illuminated and low-voltage commercial signage.

Scope of Work

Our electrical work is limited to signage systems, including:

• LED channel letters
• Illuminated cabinets and wall signs
• Monument and pylon signs
• Digital displays and low-voltage signage
• Troubleshooting and service of existing sign power supplies

This is not a general electrical contracting role. Work is predictable, scheduled, and project-based.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the company’s Responsible Master Electrician in accordance with Texas regulations
• Provide code oversight to ensure NEC and local compliance
• Be available for consultation with project managers and installers as needed
• Review permitting or technical requirements when required
• Perform occasional site visits for inspections, tie-ins, or jurisdictional needs
• Assist in maintaining safe and compliant electrical practices

Most months require minimal time commitment.

Compensation

• $1,000 Monthly Retainer (W2 employee - for serving as Qualifying Master Electrician)
• $125 per Hour for any on-site work, inspections, or extended consultation
• Travel time paid when site presence is required
• Flexible scheduling based on your availability
• Expected workload: typically 0–10 hours/month

Qualifications

• Active Texas Master Electrician License in good standing
• Eligible to be designated as the Responsible Electrician for our operations
• Strong working knowledge of NEC and local municipal requirements
• Professional, responsive, and compliance-focused approach
• Ability to visit job sites in the Houston or DFW areas on an as-needed basis
