Part-Time Medical Assistant (Dermatology)

Overview
Orah Dermatology & Cutaneous Surgery is seeking a dedicated Medical/Surgical Assistant to join our growing team. We are looking for a motivated and reliable Medical Assistant to join our team part-time. This is a great opportunity for a medical student, pre-PA, or pre-med student seeking hands-on clinical experience in dermatology.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to

  • Collaborate with team to ensure delivery of best quality care to patients
  • Properly greeting each patient with a professional and pleasant attitude
  • Prepare and clean exam rooms and sterilization of medical instruments
  • Rooming and interviewing patients, collecting history
  • Charting and scribing the patient encounter in the electronic medical record system
  • Document procedure (CPT) and ICD-10 codes in the EMR
  • Photographing patient images into EMR
  • Assist with dermatological procedures and surgeries.
  • Assist with Botox, Filler and Laser treatments
  • Thoroughly explain procedures, treatments and after care to patients
  • Perform suture removals and dressing changes
  • Write/send prescriptions and complete prior authorizations if required
  • Educate and facilitate the sale of products and aesthetic services
  • Answering phone calls and patient messages
  • Informing patients of their lab or pathology results
  • Cleaning and sterilizing equipment, perform applicable equipment maintenance
  • Collecting, labeling and preparing laboratory specimens; manage service providers
  • Maintain overall cleanliness of office space
  • Other practice duties including administrative tasks as required

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
  • Prior medical assistant experience preferred (dermatology a plus)
  • Interest in healthcare (pre-PA, pre-med, or medical students encouraged to apply)
  • Authorized to work in US
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and accurately prioritize problems & initiatives
  • Experience with Modernizing Medicine (EMA) software recommended
  • Reliability and punctuality are a must
  • Consistent attendance is required—this role supports a surgical schedule and cannot accommodate last-minute call-outs

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
