Part-Time Medical Receptionist & Aide Tuesdays and Thursdays | Approx. 5–6 Clinic Days Per Month

Our Pain Management practice is seeking a motivated, reliable, professional, and courteous individual for a part-time Receptionist/Medical Assistant position. This is a fast-paced office environment, and the ideal candidate must be comfortable working in both front office and clinical support roles.

We are looking for someone with prior medical office experience who can efficiently assist in all areas of a busy practice. Responsibilities include checking patients in and out, collecting paperwork and copays, scanning documents, coordinating with surgery centers to schedule procedures, answering phones, and assisting with patient triage. You will work closely alongside our Physician Assistant and/or Physician during clinic hours.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, able to multitask effectively, and eager to stay ahead in daily responsibilities while maintaining a positive and professional attitude with patients and staff.

Requirements:

  • Prior medical office experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional demeanor and dependable attendance
  • Two professional references REQUIRED
  • Must pass a background check

Clinic Schedule:
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:00 AM–3:00 PM
Approximately 4–6 clinic days per month

Essential Functions

  • Check patients in for appointments and collect necessary copayments and paperwork
  • Upload and scan patient documents into electronic medical records
  • Assist provider by charting in real time during patient visits
  • Triage patients and document history, physical exam, assessment, plan, procedures, treatments, and physician consultations
  • Record provider-dictated diagnoses, prescriptions, and follow-up instructions
  • Obtain and review past medical records, imaging, labs, and diagnostic studies
  • Transcribe ancillary test results and provider interpretations
  • Monitor progress of labs, imaging studies, and other patient data
  • Retrieve and display current and past imaging and diagnostic results for provider review
  • Maintain accurate documentation and understand basic ICD-10 requirements
  • Comply with HIPAA, HITECH, and all company/facility policies and procedures
  • Perform additional administrative and clinical support duties as needed

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous medical office experience preferred
  • Knowledge of EMR systems and general computer applications
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • Typing speed of 50+ WPM required
  • Ability to work independently while remaining a team player

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday
  • Must be comfortable standing and moving around the office for extended periods (7+ hours/day)
  • Frequent computer use requiring repetitive hand and wrist motions

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
