Part-time Medical Scribe

Job Overview
We are seeking two part-time medical scribes for a busy internal medicine and pediatrics practice. First shift, hours are M-F 9:30a-1:30p and second shift, hours are 2p-6p. The majority of the data being entered into the EMR will be free text. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of medical terminology, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in the medical field while contributing to high-quality patient care. The position is paid and suitable for individuals seeking flexible part-time hours while in nursing or undergrad premed programs. COVID, flu, tdap, MMR and Hep B vaccination required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately document patient histories, physical examinations, diagnoses, and treatment plans during medical consultations.
• Collaborate closely with physicians and healthcare staff to ensure comprehensive and precise record-keeping.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with privacy regulations and organizational policies.
• Assist in managing electronic health records (EHR) systems by inputting data efficiently and verifying information accuracy.
• Support healthcare providers by preparing documentation ahead of appointments and following up on necessary updates.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adaptability in a dynamic clinical setting, ensuring smooth workflow during patient visits.
• Continuously improve documentation quality through feedback and ongoing learning about medical terminology and procedures.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures.
• Excellent typing speed and proficiency with eCW electronic health record system.
• Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation of medical encounters.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with healthcare professionals and patients.
• Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining high accuracy under pressure.
• Prior experience as a medical scribe or in a healthcare-related role is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
