Part-time Medical Scribe and Clinical Administrative Assistant

Boston ENT Associates is a leading provider of Ear, Nose & Throat specialty care, serving the greater Boston area for over 40 years. Our dedicated team of professionals is committed to delivering responsive, compassionate, and expert medical services in convenient locations.

This position will be available for a late June/early July 2026 start date through July 2027, with the potential for extension depending on the needs of the practice and candidate availability. We are seeking candidates who can commit to the full duration of the position and maintain a consistent work schedule throughout the year.

Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. New hires will be compensated for orientation and training. Boston ENT Associates is affiliated with Beth Israel Deaconess Needham Hospital and Mass General Brigham / Massachusetts Eye and Ear, and offices are located in Needham and West Roxbury. Flexibility to work in both offices and reliable transportation will be required.

This position is ideal for candidates planning to pursue a career in healthcare or healthcare management, particularly those seeking meaningful clinical experience before applying to medical, PA, nursing, or other professional programs. Candidates should be able to work independently, demonstrate professionalism and strong attention to detail, and be passionate about patient care. Because of the scheduling demands and training involved, this role is best suited for individuals who are not concurrently enrolled in a full-time academic program.

The medical scribe will accompany the provider during patient exams and assist with history taking, documentation of physical examinations, and clinical plans.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Greeting and checking in patients and directing them appropriately
  • Monitoring patient flow
  • Supervising medication refills
  • Labeling specimens and facilitating laboratory specimen tracking
  • Scheduling patient appointments
  • Answering phones and clinically triaging calls based on urgency

Proficiency Requirements:

  • Knowledge of MS Office and proficiency in typing
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Previous training in medical terminology and medical office procedures is preferred but not required
  • Training on AthenaHealth/Epic EHR will be provided
