Part-Time Mental Health Counselor

First-Aid Counseling is a growing outpatient mental health practice founded in March 2023. We are committed to providing compassionate, high quality, and client-centered care in a supportive and collaborative environment. As our practice continues to grow, we are looking for a dedicated clinician to join our team and grow with us.

This is a fully remote, part-time contract position with flexibility to create your own schedule. We are currently looking for a clinician who can provide 10 to 15 hours per week, with the opportunity to increase hours over time if desired. Afternoon and evening availability is preferred.

Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and reliable clinician who is passionate about helping clients navigate life’s challenges and move toward healing. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with adolescents, couples, and families, values collaboration, and is able to provide thoughtful, ethical, and culturally responsive care through telehealth.

Preferred Licenses

• LCMHC or LCMHCA
• LCSW or LCSWA
• LMFT or LMFTA

Compensation
This is a contract position with a 40/60 split of contracted insurance rates, with reimbursement averaging approximately $40 to $60 per hour, depending on payer. Compensation is paid on a net 30 basis.

What You’ll Do

• Provide individual, couples, and family therapy through telehealth
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans tailored to client needs
• Use evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches to support client progress
• Create a safe, supportive, and engaging therapeutic space
• Complete timely and accurate documentation in accordance with ethical, legal, and insurance requirements
• Collaborate with other providers when appropriate to support continuity of care
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment approaches as needed

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field
• Active North Carolina license as a mental health professional
• Comfortable providing telehealth services
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build rapport and maintain strong therapeutic relationships
• Commitment to ethical practice, professionalism, and confidentiality
• Willingness to work with adolescents, couples, and families
• Availability for afternoon and evening sessions preferred

Preferred but Not Required

• Credentialed with Medicaid, BCBS, and other major insurance panels
• Experience with trauma-informed care
• Experience working with a diverse client population
