Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various therapeutic modalities and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality mental health care. This role involves working with diverse populations, including children, families, and individuals with developmental disabilities, to assess their needs and develop effective treatment plans.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnostic evaluations for clients.
- Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and manage crisis situations effectively.
- Offer specialized counseling services including grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, and support for individuals with chronic pain.
- Facilitate child and family counseling sessions, ensuring a supportive environment for all participants.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding, in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and case management.
- Engage in clinical research and data collection to enhance therapeutic practices.
- Provide telehealth services as needed to accommodate client preferences.
- Utilize behavioral therapy techniques such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for clients with autism or developmental disabilities.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
- Valid licensure as a Mental Health Therapist (LICSW, LGSW, LCSW, LPC, LMFT) is required.
- Experience working with children and families is preferred; hospital experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with various therapeutic techniques including art therapy, dance therapy, psychopharmacology, and gender issues counseling is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and mental health counseling practices.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and experience with medical records management is essential.

Location:
We are looking for someone who can work a few hours per week in our office in Fort Gay, WV during business hours and a few hours per week telehealth as needed.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
