Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Friday evening, and Saturday Infant Caregiver to provide attentive and nurturing care for an 1-month old infant in a safe and stimulating home environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, childcare, and infant development, with a passion for supporting the growth and well-being of young children. This role involves creating a positive, engaging atmosphere that promotes developmental milestones and emotional security for infants.
Seeking 13 hours per week. Timing is flexible
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care to 1 infant, including feeding, diapering, bathing, and soothing every 2-3 hours and as needed
- Light Household Chores
- Develop and implement age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development
- Monitor infants’ health and safety at all times, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines
- Maintain a clean and organized caregiving environment, including sanitizing toys and surfaces
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding infants’ daily routines, milestones, and concerns
- Support early childhood development through play-based learning and developmental assessments
- Assist with sleep routines and transitions to foster healthy sleep habits
- Document daily activities, milestones, and any concerns to share with parents or team members
Skills
- Experience with infants and toddlers, including infant care techniques
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and age-specific needs
- First aid certification and CPR training preferred
- Strong understanding of behavior management strategies suitable for young children
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Classroom management skills in daycare or preschool settings preferred
- Ability to nurture, communicate effectively, and build trusting relationships with children and families
- Compassionate caregiving attitude with excellent patience and adaptability
- Knowledge of early childhood education practices and caregiving standards
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment focused on child safety and development
