Placement Nanny Position Details
Family Overview

• Mom is home regularly and will be in and out. Dad works out of home and travels often
• Family lives in West Slope neighborhood - NW Portland
• 2 children: 3.5 year old boy and 10 month old girl at time of hire

About Job

• Monday, Wednesday & Thursday (preferred) or Friday: 1:00-5:00pm
• Care is dedicated to up to two but flexible on day to day as mom may be present and will take one at a time.
• Will implement developmental focused play for baby girl.
• Nurture free play and exploration with 3.5 boy when home from school and thorough summer.
• Preferred feeding plan - mom feeds baby exclusively and will work with nanny in transitioning.

• Clear and easy communication day to day with mom.
• Patient, Caring, Calm, Upbeat, Laid back, Positive and Reliable
• Brings gentle structure, is more nurturing and less strict.
• Provides a peaceful, calming presence. More relational vs structured.
• Playful and willing to connect with children
• No screens for both children and minimal for contact purposes for nanny
• This is a long-term placement (June 2026 to June 2027, 12 months)

Schedule & Logistics

• 3 days/week:
• Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (or Friday)
• 1:00pm - 5:00pm (15 hours/week)
• Start ideally June 8th

We're hiring professional, responsible nannies who are passionate about working with children and ready to build strong, long-term relationships with families.

• Experienced Caregivers: Minimum 2 years of professional childcare experience (nannying, daycare, teaching, etc). 1 year of experience can be substituted for related education.
• CPR & First Aid Certified (or willing to obtain).
• Strong Communication Skills: Ability to collaborate with parents, follow care plans and update parents at end of day or throughout.
• Reliable and Professional: Punctual, trustworthy, and ready to work with high-quality families.
• Reliable Transportation: Willing to commute within the Portland metro and surrounding suburbs if doing on-call/maintained care with various families.
• Background Check Required: All applicants must pass a national background check.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
