Position Overview
Lackawanna Medical Group is seeking a Part-Time Nurse Practitioner (NP) to support our Internal Medicine division. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered primary care within a collaborative, physician-led environment.
The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive care to adult patients, managing both acute and chronic conditions while emphasizing prevention, continuity, and long-term patient relationships.
Schedule
- Part-time (2–3 days per week)
- Flexible scheduling based on practice needs
- No nights or minimal call (customize if needed)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care services including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions
- Perform physical exams and detailed patient assessments
- Obtain and document complete medical histories
- Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and lab results
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans
- Prescribe medications and manage ongoing therapies in accordance with PA regulations
- Manage chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, and other common internal medicine diagnoses
- Provide preventive care and health education, including lifestyle counseling and disease prevention
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR) documentation
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and clinical staff to ensure coordinated care
- Participate in care coordination, referrals, and follow-up management
- Support practice initiatives related to quality, outcomes, and patient satisfaction

Qualifications
- Active Pennsylvania Nurse Practitioner license
- Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology NP (AGNP)
- Current DEA license (or ability to obtain)
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in primary care or internal medicine preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage a broad range of conditions
- Excellent communication and patient engagement skills
