Where You Come In:
Aadvanced Nursing and Home Health Services is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll/Billing Assistant to join our team. This applicant will be responsible for assisting in the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll as well as providing support to the billing department. The ideal candidate will have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, excellent numerical skills, the ability to communicate well with clients and colleagues, and work effectively under pressure. This is a part-time position which will comprise of approximately 16 hours/week (Wed/Thurs 7am-3pm).
Duties/Responsibilities:
Payroll
- Processing payroll in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner by entering data, calculating wages and deductions, and reviewing time sheets.
- Verifying timekeeping records and resolving any discrepancies or issues related to hours worked.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, such as child support, bankruptcy orders, garnishments, and tax levies.
- Working with Human Resources on issues such as worker's compensation, sick leave, and short-term disability.
- Addressing employee inquiries related to payroll, taxes, and deductions promptly and professionally.
Billing
- Reviewing and verifying billing accuracy and supporting documentation.
- Creating, editing, and sending invoices.
- Handling customer payments.
- Responding to billing inquiries and resolving issues.
- Following up through emails or phone calls with delinquent customers on overdue bills and agreeing on payment schedules where necessary.
- Operating database software and electronic billing systems to review financial data, correct discrepancies, and reconcile accounts appropriately.
- Performing administrative tasks as needed.

- Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

- Able to prepare financial and other records in a systematic, neat, and legible manner.
- Capable of working under pressure and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in billing, accounting, payroll processing, or similar roles (Paychex experience a plus).
- Proficiency with computers, MS Office, and accounting software (QuickBooks preferred).
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in accounting or related field preferred).
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Compensation:
- $21-$25/hour and commensurate with experience.
