Part-Time Payroll Specialist

Roseland Bookkeeping & Tax is growing, and we’re looking for a reliable and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team part-time. This role is perfect for someone detail-oriented who understands payroll compliance and enjoys supporting small businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll using platforms such as QuickBooks Payroll, ADP, Paychex, and Gusto
  • Prepare and file quarterly payroll reports (941, DE9, DE9C, etc.)
  • Handle workers’ compensation reporting and assist with audits
  • Manage both digital and manual timecard tracking
  • Process and submit 401(k) contributions and CalSavers reporting
  • Handle child support payments and related compliance
  • Ensure compliance with federal and California payroll laws
  • Assist with general HR-related tasks and payroll best practices

Qualifications:

  • Experience with multiple payroll platforms (QuickBooks, ADP, Paychex, Gusto required)
  • Strong understanding of payroll taxes and compliance
  • Experience with workers’ comp audits and reporting
  • Familiar with retirement plans (401k, CalSavers)
  • Knowledge of HR basics and labor law requirements
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple clients

Position Details:

  • Part-time (hours flexible based on workload)
  • In-person preferred (Santa Rosa area)
