Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Podiatrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive foot and ankle care, utilizing advanced diagnostic and treatment techniques. This role involves managing patient assessments, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical history review and physical examinations focused on foot and ankle health
- Diagnose conditions related to podiatric medicine using clinical assessments, medical imaging, and diagnostic radiology tools such as CT scans when necessary
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans encompassing medical management, wound care, orthotic prescriptions, and surgical interventions
- Perform surgical procedures including bunion corrections, heel spurs, toenail removals, and other podiatric surgeries with aseptic technique
- Manage post-operative care, including wound management, suturing, and patient education on recovery protocols
- Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or EMR systems for documentation and patient management
- Collaborate with specialists in orthopedics, endocrinology, vascular interventional radiology, infectious disease care, and other disciplines to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Provide patient education on foot health, injury prevention, diabetes-related foot care, and lifestyle modifications
- Stay current with advancements in podiatric medicine through clinical research and continued education
Skills
- Proven experience in podiatry practice with strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to foot and ankle conditions
- Proficiency in diagnostic evaluation techniques including medical imaging (CT scans) and diagnostic radiology
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or similar platforms for efficient documentation
- Ability to perform surgical procedures with precision and aseptic technique
- Knowledge of wound care management, suturing techniques, and post-operative recovery protocols
- Experience with medical coding (CPT/ICD coding) for billing purposes
- Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with healthcare teams
- Ability to handle complex cases involving comorbidities such as diabetes mellitus or vascular issues
- Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance and infection control standards
