Duties

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status examinations, and risk assessments.
  • Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, ensuring safe and effective treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Provide psychotherapy and counseling services utilizing evidence-based approaches to support behavioral health improvements.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized care plans that incorporate medication management, therapy, and community resources.
  • Document all clinical encounters accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems , adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in telehealth sessions to expand access to mental health services for remote or underserved populations.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and wellness strategies.

Qualifications

  • Current certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with valid state licensure.
  • Proven experience in behavioral health, including working with children, teens, and adults.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of psychopharmacology principles and medication management protocols.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability to perform comprehensive patient evaluations.
  • Experience in crisis intervention, triage, acute pain management, or hospital settings is advantageous.
