Duties:
- Provide direct patient care in a psychiatric setting, following established standards and protocols.
- Administer medications and monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects.
- Conduct health coaching sessions to educate patients on managing their mental health conditions.
- Perform specimen collection and processing as needed for diagnostic testing.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Assist with family planning and provide counseling on reproductive health options.
- Utilize electronic medical record systems such as Tebra and/or Practice Fusion to document patient information accurately.
- Conduct utilization reviews to ensure appropriate use of resources and services.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in psychopharmacology and incorporate new knowledge into practice.
Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in psychiatric or mental health nursing.
- Valid nursing license in the state of practice.
- Previous experience working in a psychiatric or mental health setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications, their indications, contraindications, and side effects.
- Familiarity with evidence-based practices and treatment modalities for various mental health conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to lift and move patients when necessary.
