Part-Time Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner

The Role

Under the general supervision of the Director of Psychiatry, we are currently looking for a Part-Time Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner who will provide clinical evaluation and medication assessment (non-controlled only) to students who use the TimelyCare platform.

Schedule

  • Hours: 20 hours per week (80 hours per month).

  • Flexibility: 80 hours/month: 60 hours of those scheduled between 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. on weekdays (based on provider preference) and with the remaining 20 hours that are dedicated to Saturday and/or Sunday availability.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct remote Telepsychiatry outpatient visits (initial evaluation and follow ups)

  • Conduct therapy, medication assessments, and intake evaluations for new and existing patients (students)

  • Develop individual care plans and provide therapeutic interventions as necessary including the provision of ongoing medication management services

  • Provide consultation and health education support to patients and families

  • Collaborate with students to develop care plans and safety planning if needed

  • Appropriately document sessions, assessments, and care plans in our EHR

  • Adhere to established standards for clinical documentation quality, HIPAA/PHI and telehealth regulations

What You Bring

  • Masters degree in nursing and an advanced degree from an Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nursing (APPN) graduate nursing program required. APPN graduate education must include the study of basic science, (i.e., pathophysiology, advanced health assessment, brain and behavioral correlates), advanced psychopharmacology and psychotherapeutic techniques; followed by clinical rotations in outpatient mental health settings, hospitals, or residential care settings.

  • Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and/or American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) in psychiatric mental health advanced practice nursing as the area of specialization

  • Documented compliance with any state statutes and regulations governing advanced practice psychiatric mental health nursing

  • Multi-state license(s), preferred

  • Doctorate Degree preferred but not required

  • 2+ years experience working with persons who have various behavioral substance misuse, or other psychiatric impairments

  • Demonstrated experience in clinical practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse

  • Strong and effective clinical writing, assessment, and active listening skills

  • Ability to assess, triage, and document sessions with students potentially in crisis and/or are experiencing thoughts of Self-Harm or Suicidal Ideation, etc.

  • Ability to respond with a high level of empathy, and support students in crisis situations with sensitivity and awareness to diverse cultural, ethnic and social backgrounds, values, attitudes and languages

  • Ability to respond to students who are potentially in crisis with professionalism, support, and an awareness of cultural humility.
