Duties

• Create and edit page layouts for magazines using QuarkXPress software
• Collaborate with editors and clients to understand design specifications and project deadlines
• Ensure all designs adhere to brand guidelines, style standards, and quality requirements
• Proofread content for accuracy, clarity, and visual consistency before finalizing files
• Prepare print-ready files and digital assets optimized for various platforms and formats
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
• Incorporate feedback from stakeholders promptly to refine designs and meet expectations

Skills

• Proficiency in QuarkXPress desktop publishing software with a strong portfolio demonstrating layout design expertise
• Excellent eye for detail, typography, color harmony, and visual hierarchy
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a part-time setting
• Basic understanding of print production processes and digital file preparation
• Clear communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with team members and clients
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines
• Nice-to-have: experience with Affinity or other design tools; familiarity with digital publishing standards
