Part Time Recovery Transport Driver (Class 1)

Part Time Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled part time Recovery Transport Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting vehicles safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and excellent driving skills, particularly with tilt and slide and spec lift vehicles. This is NOT roadside recovery - it is delivering salvage vehicles to and from auction houses.

2 or 3 regular days between Monday to Friday (possible occasional night out in B&B (not sleeping in truck!)

Would suit semi-retired professional Driver looking to keep their hand in the game!

Responsibilities

• Operate a twin deck tilt and slide with spec lift lorry to recover and deliver vehicles to various locations both locally and long-distcance in a safe and timely manner.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is roadworthy and compliant with safety standards.
• Load and unload vehciles, ensuring they are secured properly for transport.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation using a number of different apps as required by company policies.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, promoting a culture of safety on the road.
• Assist in the maintenance of the lorry by reporting any mechanical issues or concerns promptly.

Experience

• Previous experience as a recovery driver and/or in commercial driving is preferred.
• Familiarity with tilt and slide lorries and/or spec lifts and loading/unloading procedures is advantageous.
• A valid Class 1 licence is essential, along with a clean driving record (max 6-points).
• Must have current CPC and digital tacho card
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clients.
