Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a smooth clinical workflow. Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing procedures to maintain oral health.
- Take and record vital signs, medical history, and assess patient health status.
- Assist with patient education on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans.
- Prepare treatment rooms with proper aseptic techniques and ensure infection control protocols are followed.
- Operate dental equipment including medical imaging devices and EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix.
- Document treatment procedures accurately in medical records and review documentation for completeness.
- Support chairside assisting during various dental procedures, including pediatric dentistry and general dentistry treatments.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate with dentists and other team members to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and EMR systems.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience with medical imaging, vital signs measurement, and patient assessment.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry, four-handed dentistry, and general dentistry procedures.
- Ability to review documentation accurately and understand medical coding processes.
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations including pediatrics.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical records management.
- Prior experience in dental office or clinic settings is preferred; certification in dental assisting or hygiene is required.
