Duties

• Perform cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and disinfecting classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas to uphold high standards of hygiene.
• Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, polishing, stripping, and waxing to maintain pristine surfaces.
• Carry out janitorial tasks using commercial cleaning equipment and supplies efficiently and safely.
• Assist with basic facilities maintenance tasks like repairing fixtures, painting interior walls, or addressing minor repairs to support a well-maintained environment.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed during all custodial activities and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.
• Support industrial cleaning projects when needed to handle larger-scale or specialized cleaning tasks.
• Maintain cleaning supplies inventory and ensure proper storage and usage of janitorial equipment.

Skills

• Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or custodial services with a focus on commercial or industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing.
• Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as buffers, extractors, and industrial vacuums safely and effectively.
• Experience with residential painting or basic maintenance tasks is a plus for supporting facility upkeep.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a busy school setting.
• Good communication skills to collaborate with staff and report issues clearly.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the shift. Pay: $21.72 - $26.16 per hour
