Part-Time Seasonal Parks and Grounds Worker

Granville County is seeking a motivated individual to fill a Part-Time Seasonal Parks and Grounds Worker position. This role supports the maintenance, upkeep, and beautification of County parks and grounds. Work is primarily outdoors and involves manual labor in varying weather conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform routine grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing
• Assist with landscaping tasks such as planting, mulching, and watering
• Maintain athletic fields, playgrounds, and park facilities
• Collect trash and debris; ensure parks and grounds are clean and safe for public use
• Assist with minor repairs and maintenance of park equipment and facilities
• Operate light equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and hand tools
• Support setup and breakdown for park events or programs as needed
• Follow all safety procedures and report hazards or maintenance needs

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to perform manual labor and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Basic knowledge of grounds maintenance practices preferred
• Ability to operate or learn to operate landscaping equipment safely
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and use of hands and tools
• Ability to work in heat, cold, and other outdoor environmental conditions

Additional Information:

• This is a temporary/seasonal position with no benefits
• Schedule may vary based on departmental needs

Pay: $12.00 per hour
