We are expanding and seeking a dedicated part-time attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to social justice and a passion for serving those most in need. Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge of Veterans Benefits and Housing Law, as we proudly serve Veterans in our community and strive to ensure they receive the legal services they deserve. Attendance at monthly Veterans Legal Advice Clinics may be required.

Responsibilities include:

• Independently manage your caseload, providing counsel and advice, brief and extended services, and advocacy through contested and uncontested matters
• Conduct client intake
• Represent clients in housing-related matters (landlord/tenant disputes, housing law issues, etc.)
• Draft correspondence, pleadings, and other written documents
• Appear in depositions, hearings, and trials

Skills/Qualifications:
The most qualified applicants will be able to:

• Work independently and under pressure
• Collaborate within a team environment
• Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
• Exercise sound judgment
• Manage contested hearings

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the Florida Bar in good standing with no disciplinary actions

Preferred Experience:

• Knowledge of Veterans Benefits law and/or Housing Law
• Litigation experience (not required; training will be provided)
• Newly admitted attorneys with a demonstrated passion for public interest law are encouraged to apply
