Part-Time Substitute Special Education Teacher (K-6)

Job Summary
Mill Falls is seeking a Special Education Teacher to work in our public Montessori classroom environment with educationally and behaviorally challenged students. The Special Education teacher will create a program and learning supports that provide specialized instruction for our students with disabilities, enabling those students to benefit from our general education Montessori curriculum to the greatest extent possible.

Position Type: Part-Time

Expected Start Date: As soon as possble.

Responsibilities Include

• Instruction to assigned students by implementing IEPs;
• Preparation of academic materials for students following approved curricula;
• Special education case management related to assessment, progress reports, and participating in team meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required
• NH Special Education Certification K-12

Qualifications

• Preferred candidates should be team-oriented, flexible and creative with a collaborative approach to working with colleagues, administrators, and parents;
• Experience with Elementary School aged students with disabilities preferred;
• A demonstrated willingness to collaboratively work within our innovative methodology alongside trained Montessori educators;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Appreciation for student diversity including learning, experiential, cultural & economic differences;
• An open mind and sense of humor.
