INTERA Incorporated is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Editor to join our Richland, Washington, office on a part-time, as-needed basis to support our work at the U.S Department of Energy’s Hanford Site in Washington State. The Technical Editor will review deliverable documents and provide document processing services in support of our Hanford prime contract partners. Our growing and collaborative team of Technical Editors regularly looks for new ways to improve efficiency and standardization in the creation, review process, and delivery of INTERA’s documents. As a member of this team, your work will be a valuable contribution to the innovative solutions needed at the Hanford Site, one of the largest environmental cleanup projects in the world.
Our ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for learning and a desire to contribute to high-performing teams of geologists, hydrogeologists, geochemists, engineers, software engineers, quality assurance specialists, and GIS analysts. The ideal candidate will be interested in flexible work that involves up to full-time engagement in peak months for document production with flexibility to enjoy periods with minimal or no work during the year as well. Individuals who bring initiative, strong technical document production skills, and a commitment to excellence are encouraged to apply. Remote work is allowable for this position, provided the candidate can successfully demonstrate their aptitude and organizational skills to accomplish their job responsibilities effectively from another location in the U.S. while maintaining effective communication and coordination with team members.

Job Description
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide technical editing services in support of INTERA’s environmental services under the direction of a Senior Technical Editor / Document Manager. The Technical Editor will review and provide final formatting of all documents and attachments (Tables, Figures, and Appendices) and compilation of final documents. The Technical Editor will assist project managers and other technical staff to address last-minute revisions and issues related to the document and client feedback. At times, there may be multiple project needs for different project managers, so being responsive and able to manage one’s own workflow is essential.
