The Part-Time Teller provides accurate and efficient transaction processing while delivering exceptional customer service. This role supports daily branch operations, assists customers with routine banking needs, and promotes bank products and services.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to handle cash transactions with accuracy while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Transactions
- Process deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and payments accurately and efficiently
- Handle cash transactions while maintaining proper cash controls and limits
- Balance cash drawer daily and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve routine issues in a professional and timely manner
- Deliver consistent, high-quality customer experience
Sales & Referrals
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate bank products and services
- Cross-sell basic banking products and refer customers to appropriate staff when needed
- Support branch sales efforts by contributing to referral and service goals
Branch Operations Support
- Assist with night depository processing, including logging and verifying deposits
- Support vault operations as needed, including balancing currency and coin
- Process official checks, money orders, stop payments, and account service requests
- Accept loan and installment payments
Administrative & Operational Tasks
- Maintain accurate records, scan documents, and update customer information
- Answer phone calls and direct customers to appropriate personnel
- Assist with reports, data entry, and routine clerical duties
- Process debit/credit card requests, address changes, and check orders
Compliance & Risk Management
- Follow all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Verify customer identification and ensure proper documentation for transactions
- Identify and escalate suspicious or unusual activity
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous cash handling or customer service experience preferred
- Banking experience is a plus but not required
