Part-Time Videographer
Based on Long Island, with occasional travel across the tri-state area
Position Overview
We’re looking for a videographer who wants to do more than show up, hit record, and go home.
Our company specializes in high-end residential and commercial painting projects throughout Long Island and the tri-state area. Hours
- Part-Time
- Approximately 10-15 hours per week to start
- Ongoing, consistent work throughout the year
- Flexible scheduling based on project availability
- Occasional evening and weekend availability may be required to capture projects that happen outside of regular business hours.
Responsibilities
Project Content
- Travel to active job sites throughout Long Island and surrounding areas
- Capture video content of residential and commercial painting projects
- Film before, during, and after project transformations
- Record interior and exterior painting work in progress
- Capture crew members, craftsmanship, project details, and finished results
- Primarily shoot vertical (9:16) content for social media
- Follow shot lists and content guidelines provided by the marketing team
- Capture smooth, professional-looking footage suitable for social media, website use, and paid advertising
- Identify compelling visual moments and tell a story through video
- Upload and organize footage to after each shoot
- Communicate project updates and site conditions with the marketing team
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct yourself respectfully around homeowners, property managers, business owners, and job site personnel
Team Content
Many of our project managers, estimators, and crew members are experts in their craft, but they are not professional content creators. Some are naturally camera-shy and uncomfortable being filmed. A major part of this role is helping our team become more confident on camera.
You’ll be expected to:
- Coach estimators, project managers, and team members through talking-head videos
- Help camera-shy team members feel comfortable and confident
- Direct interviews and ask thoughtful questions
- Build rapport quickly with people from different backgrounds
- Bring out authentic stories, expertise, and personality
- Create an environment where being on camera feels natural rather than intimidating
Creative Contribution
We're not looking for someone who simply waits to be told what to do.
We want someone who:

Required Qualifications
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license
- Ability to travel independently between job sites
- Newer-model iPhone capable of shooting high-quality video
- Strong understanding of framing, composition, lighting, and visual storytelling
- Ability to capture smooth, steady footage
- Strong attention to detail
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to climb stairs, walk job sites, and remain on your feet during filming sessions
Preferred Qualifications and Equipment
- DJI Osmo Pocket
- Smartphone gimbal/stabilizer
- Experience creating content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook Reels, and YouTube Shorts
- Photography experience
- Basic video editing experience
- Experience filming construction, home improvement, renovation, trades, real estate, or lifestyle content
- Drone & Part 107 Certification
