Position Summary
The Volunteer Assistant will provide administrative support to the Volunteer Coordinator, primarily focused on entering volunteer visit data into our EMR system and helping with ongoing program support. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, reliable, comfortable with computers, and enjoys supporting volunteers and staff working toward a meaningful purpose.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately enter volunteer visit documentation into the EMR system.
- Assist with printing, preparing, and organizing materials for monthly volunteer meetings.
- Support general administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, data cleanup, and record maintenance.
- Help manage volunteer communications as needed (emails, reminders, sign-in sheets, etc.).
- Collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator to ensure program documentation is always up to date.
- Perform other light administrative duties to support the Volunteer Services department.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer skills; comfortable learning EMR workflows (training provided).
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently as well as with the team.
- Prior administrative experience preferred but not required.
- Experience in healthcare, hospice, or volunteer services is a plus.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Part-time schedule (hours flexible; typically 8-12 hours/week).
- On-site position in our Garfield Heights office with option to work remotely when needed.
