Part-Time Volunteer Assistant Fire Chief

The City of Lebanon is seeking qualified candidates to serve as a Part-Time Volunteer Assistant Fire Chief to support the operations of the City’s Combined Career and Volunteer Fire Department.

This leadership position provides Officer-In-Charge coverage during designated weekends and evening hours (6:00 PM – 10:00 PM) and plays an important role in maintaining operational readiness and command support for the department.

During assigned duty periods, the Volunteer Assistant Fire Chief assists in overseeing all operational aspects of the fire department and supports the department’s mission of protecting life and property within the City of Lebanon.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Serving as Officer-In-Charge during designated evening and weekend coverage periods
• Assisting with the direction and coordination of fire suppression operations and emergency response activities
• Supporting departmental efforts related to fire prevention, training, and operational readiness
• Assisting with incident command and operational decision-making in accordance with established fire service standards and best practices
• Helping ensure the effective deployment and coordination of career and volunteer firefighting personnel
• Supporting the department’s mission to safeguard life, property, and the community

The Volunteer Assistant Fire Chief works under the direct supervision of the Career Fire Chief and collaborates closely with department officers, career firefighters, and volunteer personnel.

This position requires strong leadership, sound judgment in emergency situations, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of public safety and service.

Successful candidate must have current PA State Fire Academy Firefighter II Certification and Fire Officer Certification desired.
