Part-Time Wildlife & Conservation Video Editor (Remote)

Are you passionate about wildlife, conservation, marine life, and visual storytelling?

We are seeking a talented Part-Time Wildlife & Conservation Video Editor to support our nonprofit educational outreach program. This is a remote, long-term editing role focused on transforming drone footage, wildlife clips, and conservation content into compelling short-form and long-form videos.

Our program is centered around Florida’s coastal ecosystems, marine wildlife, sharks, rays, estuaries, and conservation education. We work with consistent videographers and drone operators who will provide ongoing footage for the editor to shape into engaging content for social media, educational outreach, and future documentary-style projects.

This position is ideal for someone who is skilled in video editing, color grading, and storytelling, and who wants to use their creative talents to contribute to wildlife conservation and public education.

Position Details

Job Type: Part-Time
Schedule: Approximately 10 hours per week
Location: Remote
Pay: $5/hour

Responsibilities

  • Edit and assemble raw drone, wildlife, and conservation footage into polished videos
  • Create short-form content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other digital platforms
  • Edit longer educational and documentary-style videos
  • Perform color correction and color grading to enhance cinematic wildlife footage
  • Add captions, music, sound design, transitions, graphics, and educational overlays
  • Help shape footage into clear, engaging stories that support conservation education
  • Organize project files, media assets, and exported content
  • Collaborate with our team to ensure videos align with our educational mission and conservation goals
  • Meet deadlines while managing multiple video projects remotely

Qualifications

  • Proven video editing experience with a strong portfolio or sample work
  • Proficiency with editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Avid, or similar platforms
  • Strong understanding of pacing, storytelling, music selection, captions, and social media formatting
  • Experience with color grading, especially for drone, outdoor, nature, or wildlife footage
  • Ability to create engaging short-form content as well as more thoughtful long-form edits
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and file organization skills
  • Passion for wildlife, marine science, conservation, environmental education, or nature filmmaking

Additional Skills That Are a Plus

  • Experience editing documentary-style or educational content
  • Familiarity with drone footage and outdoor filming conditions
  • Understanding of YouTube, Instagram Reels, TikTok, and short-form video trends
  • Experience with content management systems, cloud storage, FTP, or digital asset organization
  • Knowledge of Florida coastal ecosystems, sharks, rays, marine mammals, or conservation topics
