Part time/Full-time Accountant

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with expertise in various accounting software and financial management systems. This role involves preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting.
  • Perform journal entries, account reconciliation, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis to support business operations.
  • Prepare regulatory reports and ensure compliance with applicable laws such as SOX and securities law.
  • Conduct audits to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support corporate finance initiatives.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, or similar tools for efficient financial management.

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience (required)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of double entry bookkeeping principles and financial concepts.
  • Familiarity with non-profit accounting, governmental accounting, public accounting, or corporate accounting practices.
  • Experience with financial report writing and interpretation for stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze financial data effectively, including cash flow analysis and account analysis.
  • Understanding of payroll processes and tax experience is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate recordkeeping.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to forecast financial trends.
  • Knowledge of wills, trusts & estate law is beneficial but not required.
