Part-time/Full-time Nurse Practitioner Nashville

JOB SUMMARY AND WORK SCHEDULE

The Nurse Practitioner provides primary care functions and participates in the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programs and services for school-based clinics in Middle and East Tennessee. Must be willing to travel to the assigned geographic area (Middle and East Tennessee school districts). The work schedule is based on a 10-month school schedule (August-May) (summer schedule may be available) . The Nurse Practitioner works MONDAY-FRIDAY, Very few if any WEEKENDS. We also offer a rewarding BONUS structure.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs complete physicals/ EPSDT exams for school-age children.
• Conducts health assessments and health screenings to include vision and hearing exams.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation. Interpret lab results and follow-up with parents and physicians.
• Provide guidance to medical assistants in a school-based clinic environment.
• Provide acute care for pediatric patients.
• Ability to accurately assess and refer to emergency and urgent care.
• Participate in the development and implementation of protocols for school-based clinic sites.
• Maintain proper documentation using electronic medical records.
• Provide administrative on-site assessment, ensure that HIPPA, FERPA, and OSHA/Bloodborne Pathogen guidelines are followed.
• Must be able to maintain patient confidentiality and make appropriate referrals as needed.
• Work collaboratively with the Health Advisory team.
• Travel to the assigned geographic area (Middle and East Tennessee school districts).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Current non-restricted TN Advanced Practice Nursing Licensure and Certification. MSN degree. Current CPR and First Aid.
