Job purpose

Performs a variety of functional and administrative duties in receiving supplies, parts, and materials in a production facility. Ensures inventory levels are maintained and organized while keeping a clean and safe work area.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Receives, inspects, stores, and issues spare replacement parts, equipment, and expandable items used for equipment repairs and plant maintenance.
  • Takes inventory of parts and equipment, maintains inventory records, and completes monthly cycle counts.
  • Pick up deliveries in other buildings or locations and transport items as required.
  • May operate a forklift to move material and unload vehicles.
  • Prepare parts, tools, and documentation, for planned PM maintenance.
  • Ordering stocked spare parts
  • Setup / Maintenance of Parts in CMMS
  • Obtaining quotes as needed
  • Maintaining cleanliness and 5S of parts storage locations
  • Learn Maintenance scheduling / work order management to backup Maintenance Planner as needed.
  • Assist with various projects as needed.
  • Other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required,
  • Associate's Degree in Technical discipline preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills in CMMS systems, MS Excel, Outlook, Word, email,, and internet research.
  • Strong communication skills: oral, written, and interpersonal; attention to detail.
  • Well organized; must be able to accurately file physical and electronic logs.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, walk, and stand. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds and infrequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Safety Requirements

  • Physically able to pass spirometry exam for test fitting of respiratory equipment.
  • Ability to wear required PPE (including safety glasses, gloves (nitrile, canvas, etc.), hearing protection, ANSI-approved footwear, and others as required.) in any manufacturing area.
  • Ability to wear required PPE if in any manufacturing area.
