Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Parts Manager to lead our parts department. This role oversees the ordering of and finding parts, inventory management, and the distribution of automotive parts to customers and technitians. Your leadership will drive efficiency, optimize workflows, and build strong relationships with suppliers and internal team members. Responsibilities
- Manage the entire parts inventory lifecycle, including procurement, storage, and distribution to meet operational demands.
- Coordinate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards, ensuring cost-effective sourcing aligned with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications.
- Utilize order management software to accurately process purchase orders, track inventory levels, and manage order fulfillment.
- Oversee the operations of shipping & receiving, equipment repair, and forklift handling to maintain a safe and efficient environment.
- Implement demand planning strategies based on automotive diagnostics data and manufacturing schedules to prevent stock shortages or overstock situations.
- Lead procurement management efforts by sourcing quality parts through OEM channels or alternative suppliers while maintaining compliance with industry standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing internal department and customer needs promptly and resolving supply chain issues swiftly.
- Maintain detailed records of inventory control activities, pricing adjustments, and supplier performance for continuous improvement.
Experience
- Proven experience in management within the automotive repair or dealership environment.
- Strong background in inventory management systems.
- Hands-on knowledge of automotive diagnostics, auto body repair processes, and equipment repair procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to manage procurement processes including sourcing, negotiation, purchasing, and demand planning.
- Experience involving shipping & receiving operations, forklift operation certification, and warehouse safety protocols.
- Familiarity with automotive service workflows and dealership operations to ensure parts availability aligns with customer needs.
