The Parts Manager oversees the daily operations of the dealership’s parts department. This role is responsible for managing inventory, supervising parts staff, ensuring efficient parts flow to service technicians, and maintaining excellent relationships with internal departments and external vendors. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership skills with a detailed understanding of automotive parts operations, inventory control, and customer service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct all parts department operations, including purchasing, receiving, storing, and distributing parts.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to support service, body shop, and retail operations while minimizing obsolescence and overstock.
  • Develop and monitor department budgets, sales goals, and profitability targets.
  • Ensure proper pricing, merchandising, and promotion of parts and accessories.
  • Supervise and train parts staff, including counter personnel, drivers, and warehouse employees.
  • Collaborate with service and sales departments to ensure timely parts availability and customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors and manufacturers, negotiating pricing and delivery terms.
  • Monitor performance metrics such as parts turnover, fill rate, and gross profit.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and dealership standards.
  • Handle customer concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
  • Stay current with manufacturer updates, recalls, and parts bulletins.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in automotive parts management, preferably within a dealership environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
