Key Responsibilities
- Customer Engagement: Engage with walk-in, phone, and email customers to understand their specific equipment needs and recommend suitable parts and solutions.
- Order Management: Process sales orders accurately and efficiently, following the order cycle through all department interactions to ensure swift fulfillment.
- Technical Support: Collaborate with service technicians to ensure accurate parts identification and provide basic troubleshooting assistance to customers.
- Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels effectively using our inventory management systems, including tracking demand and identifying potential stockouts. Conduct inventory cycles counts on a regular basis.
- Warehouse management: Shipping and Receiving of parts as well as maintain warehouse appearance
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients and suppliers through proactive communication and follow-up.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain detailed records of sales activities, customer interactions, and inventory movements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Proven experience in a parts representative or parts specialist role, preferably within the heavy equipment, automotive, or diesel-powered industry.
- Technical Knowledge: A strong working knowledge of heavy equipment components, mechanical systems, and the ability to read and interpret technical manuals or schematics is a significant advantage.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and positive attitude for customer interactions.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to quickly address customer needs and troubleshooting issues.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and the ability to learn company-specific software quickly.
- Physical Demands: Ability to frequently lift and move items up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs, and stand/walk for extended periods in a parts department/warehouse environment.
- Licenses/Certifications: A valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record.
