Parts Specialist

The Parts Specialist is responsible for receiving, inspecting, labeling and distributing parts to the correct repair jobs while ensuring accuracy and quality in accordance with Kenwood and OEM standards. This role verifies part arrivals with Repair Technicians and Service Advisors, manages inventory, posts invoices, processes returns, and follows up on vendor credits to maintain proper documentation and cost control. The Parts Specialist supports efficient repair flow and maintains strong relationships with vendors and team members to ensure timely, high-quality repairs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Manage all parts department operations, ensuring accurate inventory control and efficient workflow.
  • Maintain complete and up-to-date records of parts invoices, vendor credits, and stock levels.
  • Monitor shop supply usage and availability, reordering as needed to prevent delays in repair operations.
  • Process all parts returns promptly and resolve vendor credit issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with estimators and technicians to ensure the correct parts are received and distributed to repair jobs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure reliable service.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Follow and enforce all safety and operational guidelines to maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall shop efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • 1+ year related experience and training within the collision repair industry, dealing specifically with parts;
  • Experience with ordering and receiving TESLA parts preferred but not required.

Language Skills

  • Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as written estimates, work orders, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively with vendors and employees of organization.

  • Ability to do consistent physical activity such as reach below and above shoulder level, kneeling, bending, squatting and the ability to lift over 50 lbs.
  • Work may involve exposure to typical shop environments including noise, dust, and vehicle fumes.
  • Must be able to safely move between office and shop areas as needed.
