Parts Specialist
The primary role of the Parts Specialist is to maintain parts inventory for the maintenance department.
Essential Responsibilities
- Maintains adequate and organized inventory of parts used by mechanics for repairs and preventive maintenance services.
- Checks all incoming purchases against invoices and stocks parts in appropriate locations.
- Orders parts when needed.
- Assigns purchase order numbers and maintains records in relation to parts orders.
- Picks up and delivers parts from various locations throughout Southern California.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Truck parts and inventorying.
- Software used in inventorying, invoicing, ordering, etc.
- Modern office practices and procedures including the use of standard computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Search Engines and Google Maps.
Ability to:
- Properly track, acquire and maintain inventory.
- Actively listen to mechanics requests and react timely and efficiently.
- Mentor and maintain a positive attitude with coworkers.
- Proactively establish trust and credibility with coworkers by maintaining accountability.
- Contribute to the team dynamic by promoting inclusion, support and collaboration amongst coworkers.
- Take initiative, self-manage time and productivity through multitasking.
- Effectively and concisely communicate both orally and in writing.
Education, Training & Experience
- One year working in the field of parts management using tracking software required.
- Clean driving record required.
- Experience in the waste and recycling industry a plus.
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
- Knowledge of Fleetio software preferred.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
