Overview
Southwest Equipment is seeking a skilled and organized Parts Specialist to support both our in-house technicians and customers. This position plays a key role in keeping repairs on schedule by sourcing and delivering the right parts—quickly and accurately. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and confident working directly with both vendors and end-users.

Position Requirements
Previous experience in parts sourcing, ordering, and inventory management (equipment or automotive )
Solid understanding of construction and heavy equipment components (dozers, backhoes, excavators, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret parts diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
Comfortable working with multiple priorities and managing several requests at once without sacrificing accuracy
Proficient in computer-based parts lookup and inventory systems
QuickBooks experience required (for invoicing, purchase orders, and record-keeping)
Excellent communication skills when working with technicians, customers, and vendors
Strong problem-solving skills for finding alternatives when parts are backordered or unavailable
Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
Must live in or near Tyler, TX or reliably commute

Responsibilities
Source, price, and order parts for shop repairs and customer sales
Assist technicians in accurately identifying required parts for service jobs
Work directly with customers to locate and order needed parts
Track orders to ensure timely delivery and communicate delays or changes
Maintain organized inventory levels to prevent shortages and overstock
Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality before stocking
Coordinate returns and warranty claims with vendors
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe parts department
Accurately document all transactions and inventory changes in QuickBooks and the inventory system
Stay current with product updates, manufacturer bulletins, and parts changes
