Job Description

HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of elderly people living in their home. As a pastoral care volunteer, you'll be actively involved with a local Christian church in the area.

You'll supplement and complement the work of our HammondCare At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction you may:

1. Support people to meet their spiritual needs

You'll find that as a pastoral care volunteer you'll nurture your own spiritual life.

HammondCare is passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need. We have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of the clients cared for by HammondCare.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

Volunteering alongside Pastoral Care can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

Requirements

• 18 years or older
• National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare

• One hour each week for 6 months or longer. We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time of the week between Monday to Friday, 9am-4pm.
