We are seeking a registered patent attorney with at least 2 years of patent prosecution experience to join our team working from a home office. Strong candidates will have extensive trademark prosecution experience as well. Candidates comfortable representing clients in intellectual property disputes would have additional sources of work available to them.
Candidates should be comfortable working independently from a home office and regularly collaborating with other members of the firm by email and phone during normal business hours. Your docket will be comprised of patent, trademark, and copyright projects originating from the firm's online marketing in Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah, and Texas. The position will not allow for significant training, so candidates should be able to handle patent and trademark prosecution matters without oversight.
A technical degree and patent bar registration with the USPTO is required for the position. No particular technical background is required, but candidates should be comfortable preparing patent applications for all types of inventions as well as assisting clients with trademark matters. Regular client interaction will be involved, and good client skills are important.
Compensation is based on legal fees produced by an attorney. Accordingly, the position is not well-suited for attorneys inexperienced or inefficient with intellectual property matters. However, candidates with sufficient experience and efficiency can thrive in the position.
