Teak is an outsourced provider for patent and trademark paralegal and docketing work. We work for large corporations and some law firms.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Patent Paralegal to join Teak. In this vital role, you will support the patent prosecution process, manage complex legal documentation, and communicate with our clients. Your expertise will help ensure the smooth and efficient handling of intellectual property matters, contributing to the protection of innovative ideas and technological advancements. Duties
- Assist with patent application preparation, including drafting and reviewing legal documents related to patent filings across various jurisdictions
- Manage patent docketing systems to track deadlines, filings, responses, and office actions using tools such as PCLaw or other case management software
- Maintain meticulous records of patent prosecution activities within document management systems like iManage or similar platforms
- Proofread and edit legal drafts for clarity, accuracy, and consistency while ensuring compliance with procedural standards
Requirements
- Proven paralegal experience with a focus on intellectual property law
- Familiarity with legal administrative experience including document review, filing procedures, and case management systems
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in legal drafting, proofreading, transcription, and data entry tasks
- Experience with project management principles to coordinate various aspects of patent prosecution effectively
- Strong communication skills for interviewing inventors and collaborating with attorneys and external agencies
- Ability to handle administrative tasks such as filing documents accurately and maintaining organized records using document management systems like iManage or similar platforms
