PATENT PROSECUTION COORDINATOR – 100% Remote

McNeill PLLC, a certified majority woman-owned biotech and pharma-focused IP boutique, is looking for a patent prosecution coordinator with at least 5 years of experience.

Successful candidates will be responsible for a wide range of complex and substantive duties. The patent prosecution coordinator will provide patent-related paralegal services on client billable and non-billable matters including, but not limited to:

  • preparing and uploading US and PCT filings in Patent Center,
  • assisting with the preparation of information disclosure statements,
  • preparing and uploading PCT applications in ePCT,
  • managing foreign and PCT filings,
  • drafting reporting letters and patent prosecution shells,
  • assisting with electronic file management,
  • together with the firm’s docketing team, monitoring and managing patent prosecution deadlines in the firm’s docket system, including creating and clearing docket entries,
  • providing general administrative support to the attorneys of the firm, and
  • handling other miscellaneous activities required in a small firm environment.

Candidates will be expected to take responsibility for specific client matters and will be responsible, along with the firm’s attorneys, for reviewing and meeting all deadlines through the careful monitoring of docket deadlines and prioritization of daily tasks.

ABOUT YOU

Five years of experience in an IP law practice providing patent prosecution related tasks; a strong knowledge of US patent prosecution rules; a strong knowledge of the PCT process; an ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints; possess excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively and professionally; maintain a high-level of attention to detail and organization; and proficiency with EFS-Web, Microsoft software applications, and docketing systems. Preference will be given to candidates with substantial foreign filing experience.

Compensation range: $40-60 per hour

Full or part-time nonexempt position. Salary commensurate with experience.
