  • Education: A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree is required, followed by a multi-year residency training program
  • Certification and Licensing: Pathologists must obtain a valid state medical license and board certification
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical, and complex problem-solving skills are vital for accurate diagnosis.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in various laboratory techniques (histology, cytology, molecular pathology, etc.) and the use of laboratory information systems and diagnostic equipment are essential.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary to articulate complex findings to other medical professionals clearly and effectively.
  • Specimen Analysis: examine tissue samples (biopsies, surgical resections), cells (cytopathology specimens like Pap smears), and bodily fluids (blood, urine, spinal fluid) using laboratory equipment, primarily microscopes and automated equipment
  • Diagnosis and Reporting: analyze the samples to identify abnormalities, determine the cause and progression of diseases, and record their findings in detailed pathology reports.
  • Quality Assurance and Supervision: often supervise laboratory operations, including technicians and junior staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and maintaining high standards of quality control and accreditation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
