Patient Account Representative

Responsibilities:
THIS POSITION IS IN-PERSON (NOT REMOTE) WORKING IN WINSTON-SALEM, NC.

At Old Vineyard Behavioral Health Services, we are helping to create brighter, healthier futures for our patients and their families. We are the Piedmont Triad's only private psychiatric hospital meeting the chemical dependency illnesses and behavioral healthcare needs of those in our community.

Our 164-bed inpatient services for adolescents through senior adulthood offers comprehensive and individual assessments, psychiatric evaluation and medication stabilization, daily group therapy and personalized aftercare planning. We also offer a Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program to ensure the continuum of care for our patients. Old Vineyard is accredited by The Joint Commission and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. We are currently seeking a Patient Accounts Representative to join our talented and caring team.

Position Responsibilities
Under general supervision, may participate in any or all aspects of the patient processing and accounts receivable functions of the organization including billing, charge entry, collection, registration, follow-up, coding, payment posting and credit balance resolution. May reconcile daily system receivables reports. May balance monthly transactions and provide summaries to faculty and department administration.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position.

Qualifications:
Education: High school graduate or equivalency required. Some college coursework in accounting and/or business preferred.

Experience:
Two years’ experience in the field of Patient Accounting or related field required.

Licensure/Certification:
None required.

Knowledge/Skills:
  • Have the ability to deal with diverse and stress related situations in a calm manner.
  • Must be detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Effective oral and written communication and guest relation skills required.
  • Must have good organizational and computer technical skills and have the ability to set priorities.
  • Some general knowledge of accepted accounting principles preferred.
